See what I did there?

Only one (very) good freebie today, but a bunch of great sale items for your consideration!

Zen Bound

Device: All
Genre: relaxing rope puzzle
Price: FREE

Zen Bound is currently free to celebrate the release of Zen Bound 2. It’s a Japanese puzzle game that has you trying to cover as much of an item as you can with the available rope. It’s meant to be a soothing game with relaxing music and no time restraints, and it does the job well. Zen Bound has a great many fans out there, for good reason – this is a very polished game with beautiful presentation, and is a must-get while it’s free.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Device: All
Genre: the Order part of Law and Order (dngdng)
Price: $1.99 (sale)

Don’t have a DS? Always wished you could be a bumbling Japanese defense lawyer with anime hair and a large-breasted assistant? Now’s your chance! Phoenix Wright is the first game in the series, and the only one to be released for the iDevice so far. It’s a good port of the game, and captures all the original charm and wtf. Fans of the series (like me) are picking up the app even though we own it for the DS because we want Capcom to release the other titles – it’s a good fit for a pocket game, and is a nice change from shooting the undead.

Zombie Neighbourhood

Device: iPad Only
Genre: shooting the undead
Price: $0.99 (sale)

Then again, sometimes all you really WANT to do is shoot the undead. Zombie Neighbourhood is a highly rated shoot ’em up app with cute graphics – I’m a fan of the cartoon style. I figured it was worth getting for a dollar, so here we are. Have at it!

Game Dev Story

Device: All
Genre: play a game to make a game
Price: $2.99 (sale)

I can’t even begin to tell you how many hours I lost in Game Dev Story – it’s stupidly addictive. I apologize in advance for the loss of productivity you will undoubtedly encounter because of this game, and remind you that you do need to eat and go to work at some point.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4

Device: All****
Genre: It’s Harry Potter! In LEGO form!
Price: $4.99 (launch price)

This game came out today, and technically works on all platforms – BUT you can’t run it on the iPad until iOS4.2 comes out. That’s supposed to be very soon, so if you want to get the title now and wait you can do that – or you can just get it for your phone. Either way, it’s getting some really really high praise for the way the game has been done for the iDevice – give it a chance as the controls are wonky until you start getting spells, but then it’s apparently amazing. How amazing? I shall soon see for myself! ACCIO MONEY TO PAY FOR ALL MY APPS!
