i got two turntables and a bunch of free apps

Doug Brown

Device: All
Genre: Mystery puzzler
Price: Free

Doug Brown is a very cool looking mystery-puzzle game that has you, as Doug Brown Private Investigator, playing mini-games to get to the bottom of the case. I really like the art style – it reminds me of Hotel Dusk: Room 215 – and is definitely worth looking at for free. It has very high reviews, and as soon as my headache goes away, I’m going to be diving in with both feet. It’s a nice change from the non-stop zombie shooters, at any rate.

Scarecrow

Device: All
Genre: Physics
Price: Free

This is a combination physics shooter/item collector in the vein of Bird Strike – send your Scarecrow up into the sky and collect items for points while avoiding baddies. Use your crazy straw limbs to control your travels, but lose pieces of yourself every time you collide with bad things. Another highly rated free app, ripe for the picking!

Word Solitaire: Aurora

Device: All
Genre: Word Game
Price: $0.99 (sale)

I love word games, and it’s been a while since I’ve seen something different. Word Solitaire: Aurora is played like solitaire, but you must spell words with the cards you uncover to advance. It gets harder as you progress through the levels, guaranteeing a challenge for those of us who aren’t satisfied with spelling simple three-letter words like some kind of 1st grader with an iPod.
