friday has a headache

Everyone and their app-developing uncle are giving away free games this weekend:

Antrim Escape

Device: All
Genre: Escape the room
Price: FREE  (originally $1.99)

Antrim Escape is an “escape the room” puzzle game. Explore your surroundings, find items, and figure out what you need to do next to get out of the room. This is apparently part one, but was enjoyable and highly frustrating at the same time. It also gets bonus points for not having zombies anywhere in sight. Good if you like logic puzzles and slow paced games, especially for free. Looks very nice on the iPhone 4, too.

Device: All
Genre: Catch the fruit
Price: FREE  (originally $2.99)

Trapped on an alien world, you decide to collect fruit. Not everyone is happy with your plan, so flying robots are dispatched to take care of you. Can you avoid the baddies, collect fruit, and catch power ups? Probably, but wouldn’t you like to make sure just in case?

Device: All
Genre: Match shapes for fun and profit
Price: FREE  (originally $0.99)

A matching puzzle game with weekly challenges – poke at matching shapes and stuff happens. I don’t quite know the why yet – I have a headache – but it looks good and makes soothing sounds so it’s pretty much all I can handle right now.

Game Kit

Device: All
Genre: Not a game
Price: FREE  (originally $1.99)

Game Kit is not a game, rather, it’s everything you need to PLAY games. Timers, dice and a scoreboard – it’s perfect for board games, card games, and any kind of silly analog game that isn’t played on an iDevice, console or computer. Gina, this one’s for you!

Tesla Coils?

Tesla Wars HD

Device: iPad
Genre: Tower Defense
Price: FREE  (originally $3.99)

Stickmen are after the last surviving Tesla Tower – stop them! .. and that’s about all I have to say about that. I haven’t installed this yet; I can’t find my iPad. Ed? Where is my iPad? Ow, my head.

TapTap Ninja

Device: All
Genre: Why is the ninja dressed like a chicken?
Price: FREE  (originally $0.99)

Run and jump and kill the evil snails (boooo). Seriously, this is a really bad headache. I think I need to go lie down.

Guns n’ Glory

Device: All
Genre: Old West Tower Defense
Price: FREE  (ad-supported)

Normally I wouldn’t put an ad-supported game up because they’re annoying as hell, but I’m a sucker for tower defense games and cacti.
