thursday good times for you

It’s Thursday! To celebrate, here’s an Awesome Game Alert:

Monster Dash

Device: All
Genre: You’re here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and you’re all out of bubblegum
Price: $0.99  (possible launch price)

If you don’t have Fruit Ninja, you’re not allowed to read any of my blogs. If you DO have Fruit Ninja, then you know that this next offering from Halfbrick Studios is bound to be a flaming pile of fun – which it is. I got Monster Dash last night and was so intent on mowing down monsters that I almost forgot to play my daily QRANK game – that’s how much fun I was having. So, if you like FUN and THINGS THAT COST A DOLLAR, you should get Monster Dash (and Fruit Ninja, if you somehow missed the memo on how awesome it is).

Now, onto the freebies:

Device: All
Genre: Word games
Price: FREE  (originally $1.99)

Moxie was one of the first word games I downloaded for my iDevice, and it’s been on my system ever since. I have a serious weakness for word games, and have played countless different kinds – Moxie is one of the better ones, and if you like spelling things at all then you should pick it up while it’s free. Spell words with the letters given, then change them out to spell new ones without triggering the dreaded twaddle. Is good! Get now!

Nimp Dash

Device: All
Genre: I’m on a horse dolphin
Price: FREE  (originally $0.99)

You are Nimp, and you ride a dolphin. For some reason, your dolphin explodes if it crashes into things, so you should probably do your best to not explode your dolphin and make your way through the ocean in one piece.

Finally ..

Device: All
Genre: Emo space captain feels pain; wants to save world
Price: FREE  (originally $0.99)

Bombs are being thrown to planets, and stuff is exploding. You feel the pain of this DEEP in your SOUL and you want to end the senseless violence once and for all .. by poking a finger at the bombs and exploding them before they hit the ground. I’m not sold on this game – the reviews say it’s good and the graphics get awesome in higher levels, but it’s really simplistic and has a glaring grammatical error that made me choke on my own tongue and also WHY is it 184MB?! Unless this gets really good really fast, I’m uninstalling it – but it’s free right now, so it warrants a look.

I agree on Detonation… not sold on it, seems, well, boring. And it’s way way oversized. 184MB is just too big for what you get.
